Overnighter
– Intermediate
For those who are have completed the
beginner’s course and are willing
to the take it to the next level, the
Overnighter is the way to go. During
this safari, which covers the better
part of two days, the guests are taken
to a variety of locations, where they
can practice following tracks, climbing
dunes, and learning how to make their
way in the desert. The aim is for first-time
owners or guests who are keen on driving
to have a real blast and ride as much
as possible
Some of the skills
covered are:
• Dune ascending and descending
technique
• Simple navigation using the
GPS (Global Positioning System)
• Environment awareness –
the desert is a living environment
• Vehicle management –
taking care of your ride once on the
road
The aim for this trip
is to promote safe off-road driving
and to increase the awareness of the
desert as a living environment. Throughout
the trip our guides will make stops
at interesting sites or during chance
encounters with Arabian wildlife.
Our
guides first and foremost are individuals
who enjoy sharing their love for the
natural beauties of the Arabian Desert.
They are not just your guides; they
are also local residents who are passionate
about their homeland. With them, you
will learn the way of the Bedouins
who have roamed these dunes for centuries.
The
night bivouac is a great way to leave
the cares of civilization behind,
sharing first-class food around a
campfire in a traditional bivouac
setting. This is a unique opportunity
to sit back, relax, and watch the
stars as they pass overhead, and to
take in the silence while enjoying
the cool night air.
Please
note that the overnighter can be customized
on request. The total travel distance
covered shouldn’t exceed more
than 100 km a day depending on travel
conditions. You can also customize
this trip with a drive through the
mountains and a stay in a traditional
Shihi village under the auspices of
our sister company, Mountain Extreme.
