why EIAC cERTIFICATION?

EIAC certification is essential for organizations and individuals involved in conformity assessment because it establishes credibility, compliance with international standards, and quality assurance. It opens up market opportunities, reduces risks, and fosters client confidence in the services provided.

Becoming EIAC-certified is essential for individuals working in fairground and amusement equipment for several key reasons:

2. Compliance with Regulatory Requirements

  • Many governments, industries, and sectors require that companies work with EIAC-certified bodies to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

3. Assurance of Competence and Consistency

  • EIAC certification demonstrates that an individual has the necessary competence, knowledge, and expertise to perform their duties according to internationally accepted standards.

5. Risk Mitigation and Legal Protection

  • EIAC certification helps organizations reduce the risk of errors, non-compliance, and liability. The certification process often includes rigorous audits, inspections, and evaluations that help identify and mitigate risks early.

 EIAC PROCESS

The EIAC certification process for certification bodies that assess and certify individuals involves several critical steps, which include training, examination, and certification. This process is designed to align with international standards like ISO/IEC 17024, ensuring that the certification body operates with integrity, impartiality, and professionalism.

EIAC Certification Body Process: Training, Examination, and Certification

1. Training

Before certification can be granted, candidates need to undergo specific training that helps them develop the competencies required for their field of expertise. Training could be provided by either the certification body itself or other accredited training institutions. Adequate training records shall be, but not limited to, one of the following:

  • An approved training program from Public Health and Safety Department of Dubai Municipality;

  • An approved training program from the funfair area management where this shall be in accordance with the international standard, manufacturer requirements/recommendation and the accepted practices considering the topics that is required to be covered in each category;

  • An approved training program from the accredited CB;

  • An approved training program from the manufacturer of the rides or other internationally recognized organization in same filed.

2. Examination

After completing the training, candidates must undergo an examination process to assess whether they meet the required standards for certification. EIAC mandates that certification bodies follow a structured and impartial approach to examination, which typically includes:

  • Written Examinations: In order to justify the two years validity, each question paper shall contain at least 150 questions. The passing criteria for the written examination is minimum 75%.

  • Practical Examinations: Hands-on assessments where candidates must demonstrate practical skills. The passing criteria for the practical examination is pass and fail criteria where candidates are required to demonstrate their full ability in all area without jeopardizing safety of himself, associates and the guest/patrons.

The examination process is designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and consistency. It is carried out by our EIAC qualified/authorized Examiner, and examinations are validated and regularly reviewed for accuracy and relevance.

3. Certification

Once the candidate successfully passes the examination, the certification body can issue certification. The certification process involves several steps:

  • Review of Examination Results: The certification body reviews the candidate's performance in the examination, ensuring that all criteria for competence have been met.

  • Decision on Certification: Based on the examination results and other relevant evidence (e.g., experience or prior qualifications), the certification body makes an impartial decision on whether to grant certification.

  • Issuance of Certification: Once the decision is made, the candidate receives a competency certificate and card.

  • Validity and Renewal: Competency certificate validity from the date of issuance is 2 years. The CB shall conduct recertification before the expiry of certificate. The validity of the competency certificate is subject to an annual (12 month) internal training record by the certified person that indicates continuous compliance with the local authority requirements.
